Annual Film Festival

The 11th Annual Regent Park Film Festival will take place from November 13-16, 2013, and features an engaging and provocative lineup of local and international films.

The Regent Park Film Festival is a FREE event and complimentary childcare is provided during all screenings.

Workshops

The Regent Park Film Festival partners with schools and community groups throughout the year to deliver customized filmmaking workshops to Regent Park youth and residents. Our workshops engage participants to enhance their media literacy and production skills and offer new creative ways of self-expression through film. The resulting films are featured at the annual Regent Park Film Festival.

Past workshops include an animation workshop with Pathways to Education, a March Break filmmaking workshop with the Yonge Street Mission and an art documentary workshop with Luminato that documented their project The Encampment, commemorating the War of 1812.

Community Screenings

The Regent Park Film Festival is pleased to work with organizations and community groups to hold free and accessible screenings and film events throughout the year. These range from encore presentations of Festival programming, to new films and special panels. We bring the films and, whenever we can, the filmmakers too.

If you are interested in hosting or attending a community screening, contact Elwood Jimmy at elwood@regentparkfilmfestival.com

For Teachers

In response to popular demand, in 2012 we presented teachers and students with curriculum-based lesson plans for the films shown in our festival’s School Program. Created by a volunteer team of expert educators and artists, these excellent learning tools helped integrate film into the classroom in a fun and creative way. Download these great tools by clicking on the lesson plan of your choice below.

Teachers interested in screening films from our past festivals in their classroom are encouraged to call us at 416-599-7733 or email us at ananya@regentparkfilmfestival.com for more information.
